Just a little bit about how my Husband Steve and I serve in our church. God had burdened my heart to work with our Youth Group at our church Fairystone Baptist Church for some time. The oportunity arose and we were able to serve as the Youth Leaders at our Church. At the present we have six youth in our group, these kids are just a blessing and very special to us. We are developing relationships with each of them and learning more and more about God and how we should live our lives as Christians. Steve and I feel that it is very important for them to know that grown ups make mistakes and have issue in their Christian walk just like they do and just because they are young doesn't mean that their issues and problems are any less than ours. We try to teach them as 1 Timothy says...

1 Timothy 4:12

King James Version (KJV)
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Our Youth are so important and special; they are the future of our churches and we should do everything in our power to teach, encourage and minister to their needs both physically and spiritually. Parents need to make sure to be Godly examples to them, make sure they are in Sunday School somewhere and take them to Church. Pastor's, Sunday School Leader's and Church Member's should be Christian examples to them, remembering that what they see is the biggest witness to them. We can speak all kinds of words but we need to make sure that if we are talking the talk, we better be walking the walk because they are watching us.

Steve and I feel that it is an honor and privilege that God has allowed us to minister to our Youth and that is something that we take very serious in the sight of God as we minister to these young ladies and young men.

In Christ alone...
K
